The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research is a Chandigarh-based higher education institution that offers medical science courses such as MD, MS, nursing degrees, and other hospital administration courses. The following criteria established by the conducting authority must be met by applicants for MD Hospital Administration.
Candidates must have earned their MBBS from a Medical Council of India-approved institution (MCI).
Candidates must have at least 3 years of hospital experience or 5 years of general practise experience to apply.
In addition, to support their general practise, interested candidates must have a Certificate issued by the District Magistrate.
Those from the general category should have scored at least 55 percent in MBBS, while candidates from the reserved categories should have scored at least 50 percent.
Aspirants must be registered with either the Central or State Medical Registration Councils.
Seat reservations have been established for students from minority groups who wish to pursue MD and MS programmes through PGIMER 2022. Over 110 seats are allotted for students from various categories, including general/ OBC/ SC/ST/ PwD, rural students, Bhutanese/ foreign nationals, and sponsored candidates. To be considered in the merit list generated based on the reservation quota, students from certain categories must score 50% on the admission exam. The percentage of seats in each category is listed below.
Other Backward Castes (OBC): Students from the OBC category are entitled to a seat quota of 27% of the total seats.
To be on the merit list, students must meet all of the other eligibility conditions established by the conducting authority.
Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe: Students who belong to the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe (SC/ ST) category and have met the minimum qualification standards are considered for the merit list. A total of 22.5 percent of seats are reserved for students who fall into this group.
Rural Areas: Applicants who work or have worked in rural areas with a population of 5000 people are awarded a 5% seat reserve. Only those who meet all of the required qualifying conditions are considered for the reservation.
Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Based on the seats and reservation criteria established by PGIMER, there is a 3% reservation for students with disabilities.
Sponsored Candidates: Students sponsored by autonomous bodies of the central government, public sector colleges under MCI, or central or state government institutions are eligible to apply. Candidates must meet certain criteria, including the ones listed below.
