After the official authorities have announced the SNAP results, the next phase in the admission procedure is the Group Discussion round. There are two sections to the group discussion exercise. Each group is assigned a puzzle to solve in a set amount of time in the first part. The goal of this exercise is to assess the candidate's ability to work as part of a team to coordinate and strategize. The second portion of the GD entails two groups of candidates debating a specific issue. Each debate is five minutes long. Candidates are evaluated in this round on their abilities to communicate, think clearly, and persuade others.
Candidates are interviewed about their personal interests during the PI stage of the selection process. This round is mostly concerned with determining the candidate's personality. Candidates are also quizzed about their plans for the future and what they expect from the institute. Candidates must remain calm and engage in direct, to-the-point discourse to qualify for the PI stage.
The purpose of the SNAP writing ability stage is to assess the applicant's writing abilities. Candidates are given a topic and are required to write a short essay about it. This stage assesses the candidate's analytical abilities.
