The institute has also provided detailed instructions for the seat allocation process. On April 10, 2022, the UCEED 2022 round 1 seat allocation was revealed. On March 31, 2022, the counselling application window for UCEED counselling closed. Qualified candidates can apply to participate in the counselling process and rank their preferred institutes in order of preference.

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design, or UCEED, is a test for aspiring design students administered by the Indian Institute of Bombay. These tests are open to students interested in pursuing B.Design at prestigious institutes such as IITs.
IIT Bombay's UCEED 2022, or Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design, is an undergraduate entrance exam for admissions to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur. IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, and 15 more institutes accept UCEED scores for admission to the B.Des programme. Students who completed Class 12th (or equivalent) in 2020 or who will be taking the exam in 2022 in any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts & Humanities) are eligible to take the UCEED 2022 exam. Candidates from the science stream who have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects are eligible to apply to all four institutions (IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwhati, and IITDM Jabalpur), whereas candidates from other streams (arts, commerce, and science without mathematics or Physics or Chemistry) are only eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur). Candidates are allowed to take the UCEED exam a maximum of two times in a calendar year. To get admitted to B.Des programmes, candidates must have a satisfactory UCEED score. UCEED scores are only valid for one academic year and can only be used for admission in that year.

UCEED registration has been extended until November 11, 2021. The application form for UCEED 2022 is available on the conducting authority's official website. All candidates who register after that will be charged a late fee of INR 500. For all other candidates, the UCEED 2022 application cost is INR 3500, while female and SC/ ST/ PWD candidates pay INR 1750. The registration cost is non-transferable and non-refundable.

The UCEED 2022 Exam is held in 24 places in India, as well as in Dubai. When filling out the UCEED 2022 Application Form, aspirants must choose three cities in India in order of preference. However, they are only given one of the chosen options.

Candidates who choose Dubai as their UCEED 2022 Exam Center must additionally choose two cities from a list of 24 cities in India.
